Common problems on fruit trees. If you see any of the following, please contact me

Peach Leaf Curl

Fungal infection characterized by puckered, red, shiny leaves that turn brown, then black, and fall off.

Solution

Dormant spray with copper fungicide.

Citrus Leaf Miner

This pest burrows canals through the leaves of citrus, leaving them deformed.

Solution

Citrus leaf miner lures/traps can be placed in your citrus trees. The lures attract the males, which fly into the trap, get stuck on sticky tape, and cannot mate with the females.

Brown Rot

This fungus can affect apricots, almond, peach, plum, cherry, nectarine and quince. It turns the fruit brown as shown left.

Solution

Apply dormant spray in winter and early spring before flowers break their buds.
